Many Adventures of My Bike. 06/21/2010
I have no idea what's wrong with my blog editor, but it hasn't loaded at all in days. I guess today was the right day to write. :) Today me and dad took our bikes (which we took to New York with us) to Liberty State Park about ten minutes away. It's a huge park right next to Liberty Island and Ellis Island. Once we arrived, we rode around the whole park, down piers, through the New Jersey Marina and yacht club, pedaled down parking lots, through Jersey City and down it's streets, then stopped and rode a water taxi to Manhattan. Once there, in Manhattan, we rode through the South part of the island, or the Financial District. I rode down the streets, around Battery Park, and right by the new World Trade Center or Freedom Tower (Which is almost halfway built). We then rolled our bikes up to the World Financial Center Plaza next to the Freedom Tower to eat. After we ate, we rode more in the city and back to New Jersey on a Water Taxi. We rode more around the park, helped some people get their bike chain back on track, and called it a day as we rode our bikes back to the truck- joking about our fun day. Here are some pix. ![]() Riding down the bridge over the river in Liberty State Park looking at New York City. ![]() On the Water Taxi. Next Stop- New York City! ![]() After our ride through New York. Back in Liberty State Park. I've been everywhere with my new bike I got a few weeks ago! Kentucky, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, and New York. Uptown by Central Park and downtown in the Financial District. And- in Florida, Tennessee, and Georgia this Summer. Anywhoo, after we got back we told our stories to everyone, uploaded our pictures, then ate at Outback. Besides, I think I deserve Outback after riding my bike for more than twenty miles, right? :) -John Mikel Boswell CommentsMomma Tue, 22 Jun 2010 12:03:28 am Bubba - DADAW WORK Tue, 22 Jun 2010 7:41:56 am John Mikel, I really enjoyed your blog and I know you had a real good time. The weather must have been better than it is here. It is supposed to be 98 degrees today. I would like to see all the sights that you saw on your bike ride. I hope you enjoy today as much. Dadaw B Tue, 22 Jun 2010 1:06:51 pm Hi John, This is a very interesting blog, you tell a wonderful story that we all love to read, I love the pictures too. Have a wonderful day. Love you and miss you all, John's Dadaw Julie T Tue, 22 Jun 2010 5:48:18 pm What an "I-can-picture-it" update, John! I got a little worn out just reading about your many bicycle adventures. The bikes would make for a lovely tour of all of the areas you mentioned. When is your next big ride? Our oldest son got a bike for his birthday and has really enjoyed all the riding he's been able to do in Texas. That sounds pretty hot to me, though. I love your sporty yellow bike! Ken Capps Wed, 30 Jun 2010 3:02:37 pm Wow, what an adventure for the Kentucky boys ! And you were true gentlemen to help with the bike repairs...I bet they don't see a lot of that in New Yawk. Look forward to future posts. KC Comments are closed. |
